Leach & Clegg was established in 1945 and has been family-owned through three generations. Walter Leach and Arthur Clegg worked as joiners for a local firm, James Fielden Joiners. In 1946 they bought the business and took premises at Meadowhead Sawmills in Milnrow, offering joinery and undertaking. They stayed there for 40 years.
In 1987 the business moved a short distance to Lily Street Mills, where it's been ever since. We carry a large stock of timber so we can turn jobs around quickly, and our well-equipped workshop means we can take on almost anything.
We've become well known for our attention to detail and the quality of what we make. We're based just outside Manchester, but our customers come from all over the UK, including North Yorkshire, Cheshire and London. Trade and homeowners alike come back to us time and again, because they know what they're getting.

From hand tools and power tools to CNC and an 8-head moulding machine, we've got the kit to take on any job, large or small. We keep a big stock of timber, so jobs don't hang about.
Then our own paint shop finishes it in the colour you want. And the offcuts? They heat the mill.
